The Events Team in Dublin Zoo, to their credit, having decided to bring Wild Lights, a Chinese Lantern show to the Zoo, looked for an Event Management partner to help them realise their vision.
We loved the challenge of this and we pitched really strongly to ensure we got to work on it. That was in 2017 and we’ve renewed the deal multiple times since.
Our Crowd Safety and Event Safety team on this one is operational for around 10 months of the year. Decisions around each year’s theme happen very early on and design begins not long after the previous year’s shows finish up.
We have a near daily presence in the Zoo during the later stages of the design period. As we move into the readying and build phase then, we are consistently on site, through show nights and into break.
Safe Events Global has partnered with Dublin Zoo on Wild Lights since its inception in 2017.
They integrate seamlessly with our in-house team, fostering a positive, productive partnership essential to delivering Wild Lights year after year.”
Across approximately 60+ nights each year, Dublin Zoo is transformed into a supremely unique event space, with Chinese Lanterns stretching as far as the eye can see.
With a new theme each year, the visual nature of the show, taking place in the depths of winter, guarantees a new experience annually, albeit in largely familiar surroundings.
Catering for approximately 4,899 people a night, normal daytime Zoo operations gives way to a highly tailored management and delivery plan for Wild Lights, which sees true collaboration between the client and ourselves to ensure effective delivery and happy attendees.
Over 300,000 people come along each year, expecting to be wowed and going home having very much been wowed.
We love playing our part in this one.
We have been working with Dublin Pride on their annual Festival since 2015, the year of the successful Marriage Referendum. 2nd in scale only to St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, it’s a big one.
