We’re thrilled to share that our work on the Safe Events Global website has been recognised with a Spider Award.

The project won in the Best UX & Customer Experience category, celebrating its fresh approach to presenting ‘safety’, as well as user engagement.

A Vision for Innovation

When we setout to develop the Safe Events Global website, the goal was clear: create something beyond the typical ‘safety company’ website.

Dermot O’Shea, Managing Partner of GRANITE, summed up the vision perfectly.

“The brief for this project was ‘Don’t give us back a boring website. Give us something fresh and something different and don’t give us the same old UX’.”

This philosophy pushed us to rethink traditional user experiences while simultaneously ensuring the platform was both engaging and intuitive.

The end result?

A website that not only delivers crucial safety information but does so in a visually dynamic and user-friendly way.

A Collaborative Effort

Creating a website of this calibre required collaboration and creativity.

As Dermot O’Shea put it:

“Every time we came back with a new idea, the team at Safe Events Global went to the well and brought back extra cash to commission video and our friends in Heritage shot and made footage out of all these beautiful festivals.”

This allowed us to integrate high-quality video content and stunning footage from festivals worldwide, giving the site an immersive feel that truly sets it apart.

We also want to emphatically echo the words of Dermot O’Shea in thanking Grainne Dwyer & her team at Heritage for the amazing video footage and photography they captured at a range of domestic and international events on which Safe Events Global works.

These were exactly what we needed to show off the brand identity.

Spider Award for best UX & Customer Experience

What This Award Means for Us

Winning a Spider Award is an incredible honour for Safe Events Global.

Commenting on the win, our Strategic Director, Mark Breen, said:

“We value our website and digital / social activity greatly. We invested heavily – both time and money – to ensure our new website stands in testament to what we do and how we do it.

The fact that we previously won a Spider in 2013 for our first company website makes this win all the more meaningful. While the vision and partner agency have changed, our approach has not in changed in those intervening years.”

This recognition highlights our commitment to providing the best possible user experience for those visiting our website.

As always, ensuring that safety resources are engaging, accessible, and impactful is massively important to us.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Dermot O’Shea and the team at GRANITE for their vision, creativity, and dedication to bringing this project to life.

Their expertise indeed helped us push the boundaries of what a website for a safety company can be, and we’re incredibly proud of the result.

This award reinforces our belief in innovation, collaboration, and the power of great design to make a real difference in our industry.
