NOWIE has relaunched and has some amazing plans for the future.

NOWIE is an incredible community turned Social Enterprise dedicated to empowering and supporting women across all stages of their careers in the events industry.

Here in Safe Events Global, over 60% of our full-time team comprises women as well as a large cohort of superb female event professionals on our freelance teams, often leading them and this just felt like something worth getting involved in.

The Mammy

My mother has been a major influence on my life, including my professional life. She was our accountant for 11 years so knows everything! I have 2 young daughters, one of whom already tells me she ‘does not want to take over Daddy’s business!’ 😁 but who knows!

I’d like us to play our part in helping shape an industry that will be full of opportunities for young girls and women and where they will face less challenges that others have had to previously.

Sophie Phillip put Cat in touch with me and from our first interaction, I knew we wanted to support if we could. I owe Sophie a beer for that one. 🍻

Board of Advisors

Further, as part of our support, I have joined the Board of Advisors for NOWIE. I am joining a group of superb, experienced and passionate event professionals all adding their perspectives and input to help drive NOWIE forward.

NOWIE is driving positive change through advocacy, mentorship, networking, and professional development, and I’m honoured to be part of this mission. As a member of the Board, I will be doing my best to contribute to the organisation’s strategic growth and helping the team to shape the future of women in events.
