Tabletop Exercises

Tabletop Exercises (TTX) can be a highly effective element of your testing programme. With a TTX we are challenging the plans, not the people. It is an opportunity to identify areas for improvement in the planning.

Testing Elements

Tabletop Exercises

We devise and deliver testing scenarios that your team and stakeholders work through together. This results in identification of areas for potential improvement. This can be done in-person or online or through a combination of both sometimes. On longer-term or complex projects, it can be prudent to undertake multiple Tabletop Exercises during the lifetime of the event planning process.

Benchmarking

Our vast international experience allows us to assess your plans against those of other events of similar size, scale, complexity, audience profile etc. We can often access actual operational plans from other events of similar size, scale, complexity, either through having worked on them ourselves or through leveraging our network of colleagues and competitors, allowing us to effectively benchmark for you.

Red-Teaming

Often called ‘penetration-testing’, this involves our team attending your event in-person to identify areas of potential weakness. This can, at times, involve our teams behaving as 'bad actors', with a view to assessing how suitable the safety and security arrangements for your event are. For certain projects, this type of testing is a key component of a successful testing mix, as it results in extremely tangible outcomes for the client.

Live Testing

In its most extreme / advanced form, live testing is one of the most challenging to plan and deliver as not all projects or environments lend themselves well to it. There are often ways in which elements of live testing can take place, however. We have some ongoing clients for whom we incorporate Live Testing on a regular basis. If it CAN be done, it can prove extremely insightful and provide critical confidence in the efficacy of your plans.
