Inside the Showstop® Procedure Course
We hosted our first Showstop® Procedure course and it was a great success! Read on to find out about who joined us and what they learned.
Read moreGiven the numbers attending, we advised that we run the course over 2 separate days. We wnet with the IOSH ‘Working Safely’ course for a broad cross-section of the Fuel team including those most often found out on sites producing brand activations through to those largely office-based that deliver online and hybrid events.
We find this IOSH-accredited, one-day course, to be a really good grounding in some of the core concepts in risk management, all applicable to what we do in events. Key fundamental concepts are covered, including those outlined below and, importantly, how they are all related:
With a better handle on the above and a bit more, all Event Professionals, irrespective of role, are better equipped to do what we do on a daily basis, less likely to be putting ourselves or others in danger.
Learning is one of our core services here and we deliver a lot of courses outside of this IOSH one. Find out more about Learning with us here.
We run this course regularly in-house for various clients, from full-service event agencies like Fuel, through to exhibition builders and beyond.
We also occasionally run it publicly, when our operational schedule allows, too.
Several 3rd level institutions are looking at it to see if they might incorporate it into their syllabi too, which would be a superb development form the perspective of future safety levels on event sites.
The course runs for 1-day (approximately 8 hours), including generous breaks and a 1-hour lunch break too.
The course involves a 30-minute assessment at the end of the day. We always say that attendees will do fine in the assessment and will gain the IOSH accreditation if:
We also fit in a Mock Assessment ahead of the actual assessment.
The course is arranged in 4 separate sections:
There is ample time for group discussion, debate and interaction throughout the day.
You can find out all the rest of the details here.
We make the course interactive and engaging (that’s on us) and all we ask for is your attention and involvement.
