THE CHALLENGE

TRA 24, Europe’s foremost and largest research and transport technology conference, covering all transport modes and all aspects of mobility, which broke records over 4 days in the RDS, Dublin, Ireland in April 2024.

TRA 24

The Solution

We worked with Conference Partners International for months during the planning stages for this event.

Given challenges presented by some of the exhibits, there were a lot of moving parts to making this one safe for all.

From our first meetings with Jenny and the CPI team running TRA 24, we were in constant contact advising on various aspects of during the event planning process.

We had exhibitors craning in full train engines and carriages. There were exhibitors introducing and showcasing new fuelling technologies. Other exhibitors were demonstrating drone services, which necessitated a range of specific permissions and safety considerations.

This event had the considerations typical of any conference-type event, with many novel and particular considerations beyond that, by virtue of the subject matter and those exhibiting.

We enjoyed liaising with all partners and stakeholders to ensure the TRA event was the record-breaking success it proved to be. We like the challenges presented by this one.

TRA 24

The Result

Over four thousand people enjoyed 4 days of conference programming across the vast majority of the 160k square metre RDS campus in Ireland’s capital city.

CPI packed a lot into the exhibition programme, optimising the use of the vast RDS footprint, both internally and externally. The Main Campus was utilised plus the Simmonscourt site, across the road.

Thousands of people were safely facilitated at TRA 24 on both sites across the 4 days, including providing for their safe movement between the 2 sites, which involves crossing an open, main road. Attendees walked. They rode electric bikes. They could also opt to utilise event transport in the form of electric buses.

The event was a great success, by all metrics. breaking records for our client and their records and we enjoyed doing what we do on such a high-profile, international event at home in Dublin.
